Vitreous enamel, crushed glass, copper, credit card fragment

Works in the Balance Transfer series respond to credit card fragments found on the streets of my neighborhood in Vallejo, CA. Using vitreous enamel and copper, I “repair” each card. This intervention invites comparison through visual and material juxtapositions, addressing concepts of value, excess, and deficit while evoking the practice of borrowing from the future to enable present consumption.
